Welcome to episode 17 of the Average Joe Car Show
What can you expect from this week’s episode? Im glad you have asked random disembodied voice. As all of you have noticed by now, we have been off the air for a while. We have had a myriad of website issues and some rather large personal hurdles to overcome. I can say with 100% certainty that “we’re back baby”. This episode then will be starting with a discussion on what we have been up to in our break. We will also talk about the future of the Average Joe Car show. What’s in store? Where have we been? What about our own cars? These are just some of the questions we will be talking about this episode.
We also have two new segments this week, “Road To Recovery” & “Does The 86 Really Have All the Trix?” I won’t spoil these segments here, you will just have to listen to find out more.
Have your say, hate, love or neutral on any part of the show, let us know. We can be reached on Twiiter or Facebook, just search ajcarshow. You can also reach us by email at ajcarshow@gmail.com.
As discussed in this episode we are looking at expanding our website to include long form, investigative and opinion based articles. The articles can be on community issues, events, products, etc. The writing can be on anything you want, it just needs to be a minimum of 500 words and be on something you think would interest car enthused average Joe’s. We are looking at both form (writing skills) and character. We don’t care if you have experience, we just want unique perspectives.
We want to try and make the Average Joe Car show a platform, a place to share ideas and issues that affect regular car consumers. We want to share points of view left out or ignored by the mainstream car press. If you’re at all interested in contributing to the cause, please send on through an example of your work. Send your work to ajcarshow@gmail.com, entitle the email “New Blog Submission”.

Welcome back. Wondered where you guys had been!
Thanks Rob,
Let us know about what you think of the new episode as discussed. We will be recording part of the next episode tonight.
If you want to add anything or even live tweet/ facebook/ redit in at around 7:30 AEST, we would love to include you in the discussion.
I think it was a return to form. Just noticed the new ep has dropped overnight, so that will get a spin over the week ahead, among the other dozen or so podcasts I subscribe to.
One thing I would say about Skype recording is the way to get best quality for both voices is to have the call on Skype, but both be running something like Audacity and record your own voices on your own PCs. Then one of you sends the file to the other, who puts them both in Audacity, trims one or the other so they are in sync, then merges them. The result is audio where you’re both as clear as possible.
Hi Rob,
Im glad you feel it was a return to form (what ever that form may be).
In terms of Skype recording, what you described is essentially what I did. I recorded Dallas and myself on different tracks and tried to edit them up in post to of similar quality. EP15 however was a return to us recording in the same room so it should sound a little sharper I hope.
Thanks for returning to our little humdrum show after our time off air. Tell your friends, we have big plans for this year.
